Monterrey - Pre-Race

So just a little over 24 hours till the races start here in Monterrey, Mexico. The weather has continuted to be un-cooperative, with rain on and off over the last couple days and very little sunshine. It has still been very humid and feels quite warm most of the time.

On Wednesday, we started off the day with a hour and a bit ride out on the race course. Then we biked over to the pool for a nice short swim with some activation. In the afternoon we went for a short run around the canal where the swim will take place for our race on Friday. We went out for a team dinner at Chili's and then walked down to the canal to try and figure out how the swim is going to work out.

Today started off with another swim in the pool with 5x100 @ race pace. Then once we got back we went for a quick run with strides and dynamics. In the afternoon, we went for a bike ride to check out the course again. The course is quite technical and with the likely wet conditions, we could be in for an interesting bike ride. At the end of the ride we practiced some fast transitions and headed home. The pre-race briefing takes place at 5pm tonight and then we are having a team dinner.

Race day tomorrow. The girls go at 5 pm and the guys at 6:30 pm.
